COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE. . .
The National Association of
RealtorsŪ (NAR) and the
Georgia Association of Realtors (GAR) offer several advanced
continuing education programs designed to assist RealtorsŪ in
increasing their skills, productivity and knowledge after having
initially earned a real estate Salesperson's license.
These courses are strictly voluntary and go well beyond simply
meeting the minimum Continuing Education requirements for all
RealtorsŪ. Many people have seen these "initials" after a Realtor'sŪ
name without knowing what they really mean. I hope that the
explanations that follow will be helpful to you.
In order to enhance my real estate knowledge and expertise,
I have completed both the course work and experience requirements
to earn a Georgia Real Estate
Associate Broker's License
as well as the following professional designations:
ABR (Accredited Buyer
Representative)
This designation is
acquired through a combination of classroom
instruction and real-world
experience. Requirements include the
successful completion of the
class work, proficiency testing and
documentation of Buyer Agency
experience. Having this experience
and training is especially important when working with buyers who
lack experience in real estate matters.
GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute)
This designation is earned
through the successful completion of a
minimum 90-hour, in-depth
course of instruction covering all aspects
of residential real estate,
but with special emphasis on contract law,
real estate license law, finance and professional standards and ethics.
The course is taught in three
full one-week segments over an eighteen
month period. Approximately
25% of all RealtorsŪ hold this designation.

Having earned these licenses and designations is, I hope, indicative
of my dedication to excellence in the business of real estate. Having
done so has provided me with additional training, skills and tools -
better enabling me to serve my clients with in-depth knowledge and
exceptional service.
